Cash is still king
According to nola.com, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles has reversed its decision to stop accepting cash payments. The sticky fingers of OMV employees and the state’s antiquated accounting system were the original motivations behind the new policy.

It was estimated that the state would have saved several hundred thousand dollars by eliminating cash payments. However, citing concerns for elderly, rural, and poor citizens, cash will resume its reign this month with some limitations. Reinstatement fees will continue to require non cash payments.
