I lost my traffic ticket and I can’t remember where exactly I received the ticket. Where do I start?
What happens if you received a traffic ticket somewhere in the New Orleans area but you can’t find it. You’ve lost the ticket. Even worst, you are not sure where you received that ticket exactly. I’m going to give you some pointers on how to figure which court to contact.
So, if you’re anywhere in Orleans parish, it’s pretty easy. The traffic ticket is going go to New Orleans Traffic and Municipal Court.
If you’re on the causeway, then that traffic ticket should either go to Metairie – First Parish Jefferson Parish or to St. Tammany. If you’re on the Huey P., that ticket will either go to Metairie – First Parish Jefferson Parish or Gretna – Second Parish Jefferson Parish.

It can get little more complicated if you’re on the Westbank. There are few courts in play. The traffic ticket could have been from the city of Gretna. Or if you a got a ticket from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office then that ticket could have went to Second Parish – Jefferson Parish, which is also in Gretna. Both of those courthouses are located on Huey P. Long Avenue.
Also, if you receive a marijuana charge in addition to the traffic violation, that ticket may go to the 24th JDC which located at 200 Derbigny St, Gretna, Louisiana. Another court to check on the Westbank is Westwego Traffic Court.
If you’re on the Eastbank of Jefferson Parish, the ticket likely went to either Metairie – First Parish Jefferson Parish or Kenner Mayor’s Court. Sometimes it can get confusing because a traffic ticket issued by Kenner police can occasionally go to Metairie. Violations like driving while suspended usually send those to First Parish Court, which is in Metairie at 924 David Drive. If you’re on the interstate, heading to or from the airport, there’s a good chance that that traffic ticket is either from Metairie or Kenner.
If you’re coming from the west say from Baton Rouge, it’s possible that ticket went to St. John or St. Charles parishes.
So, hopefully, you have an idea where to start. However, if you need some help looking for a traffic ticket or just have some general questions, you can always text or call or you can always schedule a free strategy session at trafficticketsnola.com. Thank you.
